What is Hallmarking?

A hallmark is a mark or a series of marks that are stamped or lasered onto certain metals to certify their preciousness and purity.

Hallmarking at Rewa Collection

In the UK, anyone selling items made of precious metals are required by law to display a Dealer's Notice, which provides customers with information about hallmarking requirements and the guarantee that they provide.  

Any Sterling Silver products weighing 7.78g and above at Rewa Collection has been hallmarked, as required by law. There are 4 assay offices in the UK: Birmingham Assay Office; Edinburgh Assay Office; London Assay Office and Sheffield Assay Office and an assay office in Dublin.

We ensure all hallmarks are placed on the back or inside band of your jewellery, in an area not visible to you when you wear it.
