About Our Jewellery

We mainly use 316L Surgical Stainless Steel or 925 Sterling Silver material, with the aim of catering to those especially with sensitive skin (hypoallergenic). However, we do also provide pieces made with other types of base metals .e.g. plated brass which are not hypoallergenic. Please read individual product descriptions for further information.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is not harmful or toxic to the environment, and it is fully recyclable. In fact, it can be recycled multiple times without losing its qualities. 316L Steel is one of the most common materials used for piercing and body jewellery. They are extremely hardwearing with a particularly high resistance to corrosion and rust. Stainless Steel is an ideal material for everyday essential jewellery because:

  • It is highly durable so you don't have to worry about your jewellery getting bent or squashed
  • It is waterproof
  • It is hypoallergenic & ideal for sensitive skin
  • It is resistant to tarnish and oxidation
  • It does NOT turn your skin green
925 Sterling Silver

Sterling Silver is a mixture of pure silver and some other metal, usually copper. The resulting alloy gives the silver strength. The standard is at least 92.5% silver. Hence the .925 stamp you see on some sterling silver items. Our 925 sterling silver jewellery conforms to International, European and American legislation regarding lead, nickel and heavy metal content.

  • Lightweight
  • Nickel & Lead free
  • The metal will not rust or perish
  • Silver products over 7.48g are hallmarked
  • It is hypoallergenic & ideal for sensitive skin
If you look after your jewellery it will look great well into the future.
Plated Brass

Plated jewellery is an excellent option if you want to buy pieces that are on-trend or are on a much smaller budget. Most costume jewellery is manufactured from plated brass as it is not only more affordable, but also very durable and practical when it comes to manufacturing jewellery. The plating process starts with brass as a base metal, which is cleaned and prepared, ready to be plated with a thin layer of gold, rose gold or rhodium.

  • Durable and practical
  • Affordable
  • Brass is not hypoallergenic, while most people won’t have any problems, those with sensitive ears might need to be more cautious.
Silver Plated

Silver-plated jewellery is made from a thin coating of pure silver over other non-precious metals. Meaning that when the silver scrapes off you’ll notice the base metal underneath.

E-coating
E-coating is a hypoallergenic, clear coating to protect the jewellery from tarnishing. E-coating is also known as electro-coating as electrical current is used to coat the metal surface with an organic lacquer. This method ensures a complete and fully even coating every time
